Maingear mX-L 15 produces cheap speed

Maingear today catered to its bread-and-butter gaming audience with a mid-range performance notebook, the mX-L 15. At 15.6 inches, the system avoids the cost of a desktop replacement's display but is still relatively fast. Every model has a Mobility Radeon HD 4570 for mid-range graphics, and processors range from a dual-core 2.4GHz Core i5 to a quad-core 1.73GHz Core i7.

A base configuration at $999 starts with both the base i5 as well as 2GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a DVD burner and a 1366x768 LCD. Besides the processor options, it can load up a 1600x900 screen, 8GB of RAM and up to either a 320GB conventional hard drive or a 512GB SSD.

Stock orders made today should ship by about March 17th.
