Moto Backflip, Quench, more to hit Canada

Motorola today said that Android phones using its in-house MOTOBLUR interface should reach Canada this spring. The lineup will involve the entire current and soon-to-ship US mix, including the Backflip, Dext (Cliq) and Quench (Cliq XT). What changes would apply to the Canadian models, if any, aren't known.

The custom UI focuses on social networking and pools status updates as well as e-mail and RSS into a home screen layer that will even permit updates without having to launch into a dedicated app. It also touts an online backup for contacts and messages that can transfer data between MOTOBLUR phones. All of the current models use Android 1.5, but at least some models are likely to be upgraded to Android 2.1 soon.

Which carriers would get which phones isn't clear, nor are the prices.
