Palm resumes Chinese production of handsets

The stoppage of Palm Pre and Pre Plus handset production in China is now over, according to the company VP of communication Lynn Fox's personal blog post and in a response from a reader. She indicated the production started back up at the end of February. The executive further defended the lack of a formal press release informing of the resumption, arguing that this is not the sort of thing a company announces, along with other internal operations.

Palm previously said it initially stopped production in China due to the Lunar New Year, which sees many companies rest. Rumors had swirled that it was due to low sales or an unforeseen technical glitch, neither of which was corroborated by outside sources. [via CNBC]
