SuperCrypt nets speeds up to 240MBps

Super Talent has introduced SuperCrypt, a new USB 3.0 drive with AES hardware encryption. The new USB drive offers transfer speeds of up to 240MBps and is backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports, albeit at the necessarily slower speeds. Two different AES encryption options are offered for the drive, one of which is 128-bit ECB encryption which comes with the regular SuperCrypt, while the other 256-bit XTS encryption is available for the SuperCrypt Pro.

Additionally, both the Regular and Pro drives offer an STT encryption utility for password control,. Storage capacities for the drive range from 16GB to 256GB for the SuperCrypt, and 32GB to 256GB for the SuperCrypt Pro.

Super Talent is expected to release the SuperCrypt USB drive in March of this year to supporting stores and has yet to announce a price.
