Backflip coming to Canada's Telus exclusively

Telus announced on Thursday that it will be the first and only provider of the Motorola Backflip in Canada. The Android-powered device has Motorola's MOTOBLUR interface that brings together feeds and updates from various social networks. As with the AT&T version, users interface through a 3.1-inch touchscreen with a 480x320 resolution and a unique touchpad behind the screen.

The phone has Google Apps such as Gmail, Google Maps and Google Talk, along with YouTube. Telus has not revealed pricing information nor a release date for the Backflip, although in the US it costs $100 on a two-year plan. Similar pricing on a longer three-year contract is more likely in Canada.
