Features include i3/i5 CPU, HD display, DVD-RW

Lenovo has started shipping two versions of the new IdeaPad Y460, part of its mid-range notebooks targeted at the home. Both models include Windows 7 Home Premium, 4GB of RAM (up to 6GB), 14-inch displays, and dual-layer DVD writers. They also have 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 1.3-megapixel webcam.

Differences rest mostly in performance. The base $999 model Y460 uses a 2.13GHz Core i3 CPU, Intel graphics and a 5,400RPM 320GB hard drive; the $1,199 second model upgrades to a 2.4GHz Core i5, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 dedicated graphics, and a 500GB hard drive.

Lenovo also plans to introduce a 15-inch model, the Y560, but has not released details on its ownpricing or availability.
