HP Vivienne Tam gets Pine Trail, Beats audio

HP today rounded out its netbook lineup with a long-anticipated Mini 210 version of its Vivienne Tam model. The new system gets the benefits of the new design, including the 1.66GHz Atom and low energy draw of Intel's Pine Trail platform; this time, software also gets a lift as the system includes the same Beats Audio software found in the Envy series and should theoretically help improve sound quality.

The fashion theme still persists both inside and out with a new, gold-hued shell as well as a visually customized Start menu, wallpaper and icons. It can come with matching extras like a suede sleeve and a coordinated mouse.

HP prices the Vivienne Tam model a steep $599 but outfits it with slightly higher than usual 2GB of RAM and uses Windows 7 Home Premium rather than Starter. Most options are common to the Mini 210 series and include hard drives as large as 320GB. The optional mouse will cost $40. Availability will start on March 19th but will include Amazon as well as retail shops like Best Buy and Neiman Marcus.
