O2 plan may hint future iPhone feature

O2's British division has raised eyebrows today after its tariff list was discovered to include a mention of video calls. The rate has been quietly added to the "key features" list and would cost as much as much as a voice-only call. No other immediate references have been found.

It's not clear whether or not the mention is an inadvertent leak of plans for video chat in a future iPhone or else an automatic addition on O2's part, in step with what it shows for other plans. Apple's iPhone 3.2 beta firmware has had references to video calls, but no actual hardware has appeared that would clearly point to such a development. A slightly taller iPhone is only a vague clue as it theoretically includes room for a camera.

O2 has been contacted for comment by Electronista but hasn't responded as of this writing. [via Redmond Pie]
