Acer prepping frameless notebook with touch keyboard?

Acer would one-up Apple with glass, touch
Acer is designing an exotic notebook that would let it claim the ultra-thin crown through new technology, a rumor from within the notebook industry claims. The system's display would use a new toughened Corning glass that would serve as the entire lid; Acer would just print a color on the back. The display would not only be thinner as a result but would be entirely frameless and potentially less expensive.
The system as described by DigiTimes would simultaneously use a touch-input keyboard to slim the system down even further. Whether it would use a regular notebook processor or a low-power chip like Intel's CULV design or the Atom isn't known, though the goal of the PC makes these slower but more efficient chips more likely.
Ultra-thin portables have been a target of the PC industry ever since the MacBook Air, but most manufacturers outside of Apple have often simply resorted to slower processors, such as the Atom in the $1,300 Sony VAIO X, or partially sacrificial designs like the Dell Adamo XPS that use a unique hinge to fit in a ULV processor at the expense of battery life and performance.

Very creative lid!
Glad to see a non-Apple forward-thinker out there. Now if they can resist the temptation of dropping a mere Atom in the unit maybe they can make it a worthwhile piece of work.
Still won't have the Mac OS ... pity. ;-)
