ASUS shows PL30JT notebook meant for business
Among nearly countless other products it debuted at CeBIT in Germany last week, ASUS also showed off this PL30JT business notebook. Most notable specs include the 1.06GHz Intel Core i5 CPU and both NVIDIA's 1GB GeForce 310M graphics chipset as well as Intel's integrated GMA HD graphics processor. The operation of these latter two is overseen by NVIDIA's Optimus technology.
The 13.3-inch notebook has a 1366x768 resolution display and its RAM can be optioned up to 4GB. It is expected that both glossy and matte displays for the notebook will be offered.
The hard drives on offer include 5,400RPM units up to 640GB in size or 7,200RPM disks in up to 500GB hard drives. There is no optical drive, which helps to keep weight down to 3.8lbs and a thickness of less than one inch, despite shipping with an 8-cell battery. This battery is said to endow the PL30JT with as much as 10 hours of mobile operation. ASUS' Turbo33 technology promises to boost performance by as much as a third.
ASUS has not revealed pricing nor a release date for the PL30JT. [via Softpedia]
