Gigabyte GSmart G1305 would run Android 1.6

Gigabyte's second Android phone has been given its first earnest look in a purportedly official unveiling. Nicknamed the "Codfish," the GSmart G1305 would be a full-touch device with a 3.2-inch display and a 5-megapixel camera. Despite its age, Android 1.6 would be the platform of choice and not 2.1, PointGPhone claimed.

It's presumed the phone would also have 3G, GPS and Wi-Fi. Gigabyte hasn't provided a release date or a price, but its phones are more likely to initially ship to the company's native Asia as well Europe and similar areas. The company is still new to smartphones and doesn't have a significant presence in the field for the US.
