Dell upgrades Vostros for early 2010

Dell this morning revamped its Vostro notebooks for a significant design and speed upgrade. The new 3000 series is housed in aluminum shells and have sturdier hinges; color is more common and now sees bronze, red and silver as options. All of the systems get processor upgrades and now give Core i3 or i5 processors to the 13-inch Vostro 3300 and 14-inch 3400 while the 17-inch 3700 gets Core i7 choices that include quad-core chips.

Every system can also carry up to 6GB of RAM, DVD burning, a 500GB hard drive and an extended 9-cell battery. Dedicated graphics are more important in the line: the two smaller systems have the option of an entry GeForce 310M, but the desktop replacement-class 3700 can use a mid-range GeForce GT 330M.

Pricing remains an unknown for the new Vostros, but they should be available later today in the US and March 16th in other countries.
