Sony VAIO M seen in the flesh, due in April

The first specs, prices and release date of the leaked VAIO M-series netbooks from Sony have been revealed. The netbook, which may either replace or supplement the VAIO W, will sport a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450, 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and a 10.1-inch display with a 1024x600 resolution, which is slightly lower than the VAIO W's 1366x768.

Another change is a traditional keyboard rather than the chiclet layout of the old model. Preloaded software still includes Windows 7 Starter Edition and the VAIO Gate dock, which acts as a shortcut to commonly used programs. The netbook weighs about 2.9lbs.

The VAIO M is set to ship in April, priced at the equivalent of $451 in Europe, although American pricing is more likely to be less. [via Stuff.tv]
