Acer to release Timeline notebook with Core i5

Acer may soon bring out an expected version of its 11.6-inch Timeline notebook with Intel's Core i5 CPU. Called the the 1830T, it retains a screen resolution of 1366x768, the full size keyboard and very similar weight. It is slightly thinner than the CULV-powered models, and gets a new color. Design details are only slightly changed. The processor is the dual-core i5-520UM, which has a 1.06GHz clock speed that can be bumped up to 1.86GHz during some conditions thanks to Intel's Turbo Boost technology.

Graphics would be handled by Intel's CPU-integrated chipset as well as Intel's HM55. The new notebook should have Wi-Fi, two memory card slots, an HDMI port, optical audio, gigabit Ethernet and three USB 2.0 ports. Hard drive capacities are unknown, and Bluetooth 2.1 along with a 3G radio are optional. Battery life is said to be eight hours.

Pricing and release dates for the Timeline 1830T are expected to be officially announced before the end of March. [via Macles]
