Nokia N8 to use new OS, carry 12MP camera

Nokia's first Symbian^3 Nseries flagship, the N8, has been all but confirmed today thanks to a leak from China. As the first running the new multi-touch OS, the smartphone should accordingly have several other firsts for its creator. It would revolve a 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen and would make its camera the highlight with a 12-megapixel sensor, 720p video capture and HDMI video output.

Not much else is known about the phone, but it would carry a xenon flash and is uncharacteristically thin for a Nokia QWERTY keyboard slider. When it would be released wasn't part of the IT168 slip, but having missed the originally rumored Mobile World Congress target, the most likely candidates may be the Nokia Developer Summit in mid-June or else Nokia World in the fall.
