Jobs, Schmidt spotted talking business in public

Apple, Google CEOs clearly not in heated debate

Apple chief Steve Jobs and his Google counterpart Eric Schmidt were seen today talking business in a sign of a possible warm-up in relations between the two rivals. Meeting earlier today at the Calafia in Palo Alto's Town and Country shopping center, the two were engaged in a calm discussion that may have been related to web content. An eyewitness told Gizmodo that the conversation was largely a one-sided conversation by Jobs, but that he was animated and at one point enthusiastic.

"They're going to see it all eventually so who cares how they get it," Jobs said about the mystery subject of conversation.

What prompted the talk and its location wasn't evident from the cursory look. Speculation has been that Jobs and Schmidt may have wanted a neutral ground to make discussions fair, but the possibility has remained that the two simply wanted to meet and that any business may have been secondary.

Lately, both companies are said to have been bitter rivals over the existence of Android and its possible use of iPhone-like features such as multi-touch, but it's never been known how much of a working relationship the two maintained. A fairly public meeting would imply that Jobs and Schmidt are at least willing to speak on positive terms with each other.

    Fish in a barrel

This was a photo op to diffuse the distraction of the strained relationship. Apple nor Google wants distraction from their product.

    From my perspective

It's creepy how Steve hasn't got a reflection in the window beside him...

I did not see any eye scratching, hair pulling or drinks before thrown in each others faces. this is why men are not good subjects for trashy reality shows.

    So what's your caption?

    Steve saying to Eric:
"Eric, how many times do I have to tell you? Steve Ballmer wouldn't come for coffee - he's working overtime to make Bing work with the iPad's release. But he'll take Droid if you take WIndows Mobile..."

    It's a set-up!

These two people is billionaire, do you think they go to corner shop and have coffee and talk? Apple leaks whatever Apple fans want to hear and helps their image and sales. Mac Book Pro, MacBook Air, Apple display need to be refreshed and iphone 4 is in the pipeline, there is no any news. They don't leak then we don't know. It's a marketing strategy and we like to get that bait all the time.
