Panasonic prices, dates 3MOS Full HD camcorders

Earlier this week, Panasonic announced prices for its pair of 3MOS 1080p HD camcorders, the HDC-TM700 and HDC-HS700, first introduced at the start of February. The company also revealed the two will arrive in mid-April, with the TM700 priced at $1,000, while the HS700 will cost $1,400. Both camcorders can shoot 1080p video at 60fps and sport 14.2-megapixel image sensors.

They also share the same 35mm Leica lenses with 12X optical zoom that can be boosted to 18X with the company's Intelligent Zoom feature or 30X using digital zoom. The lenses carryt Panasonic's second-generation image stabilization technology. The HS700 has a built-in 240GB flash drive, while the TM700 gets 32GB of capacity. Both get an SDXC memory card slot, however, that lets users add up to 64GB of recording capacity.

The built-in sensors can capture 14.2-megaixel still images or 13.3-megapixel images from recorded video. Users frame their shots and videos or play them back on a flip-out 3-inch screen.
