ASUS officially outs Eee PC 1001PX with matte screen

ASUS puts out specs of Eee PC 1001PX
A new ASUS netbook, the Eee PC 1001PX, will be the first from the broad range to sport a matte screen, which should make it more ideal for outdoor viewing, thanks to lower glare. Otherwise, the 10.1-inch LCD panel is ordinary, sporting 1024x600 resolution. Hardware specs are also tried and proven, and include a 1.66GHz Intel Atom, 2GB of RAM and as much as 250GB of hard drive space.
There is also Wi-Fi onboard, Bluetooth 2.1, a pair of USB ports, an Ethernet and a VGA connection. A memory card reader and an audio in/out are likewise present. A 0.3-megapixel camera is built into the bezel, while an optional six-cell battery is said to have a maximum life of up to nine hours.
While release dates have not been confirmed, the EeePC 1001PX with Windows XP is expected to cost the equivalent of $326, while a version with Windows 7 should cost $406. [via SlashGear]
