iPad clone spotted with custom Android interface
An iPad clone from China has been spotted recently that represents the first overt attempt to mimic Apple's tablet. The device looks very near to the real thing, though its manufacturer remains unknown. It sports a 10-inch screen, though in a wider screen ratio and with an unidentified version of Android deliberately made up to replicate the iPad UI.
According to the Shanzai discoverer, processing power comes from a 600MHz ARM CPU, which like its Apple counterpart allows for a slim design. The original, in comparison, has a 9.7-inch screen and a 1GHz Apple A4 processor.
No other information is thus far known about the clone, though it is expected to cost somewhere in the region of the equivalent of $150. Unsurprisingly, no plans exist for exports to North America. Clones of Apple hardware are frequent in China but usually involve Windows CE or another older OS as well as more obvious differences in the interface.

An Awful Lot Seems To Be Known ...
... about this unknown. We know what OS it's running, what processor is in it, its screen size ... everything but who photoshopped it.
