Logitech rolls first $50 Harmony remote

Logitech Harmony 300 omits screen for price

Logitech started off Wednesday by providing its least expensive universal remote to date. The Harmony 300 scraps the display entirely and instead uses a set of pre-programmed buttons to handle fully automated tasks like playing a DVD. All of the tasks are set up using a Mac or Windows PC through a web browser interface that taps into Logitech's device database.

The remote should work with at least 225,000 devices that support IR signals and should recognize more with online updates. At $50, the 300 is half as expensive as the Harmony 650. Customers will have a relatively short wait as the new remote will ship in April.

    Needs more devices

I'd buy it if it could control 6 devices. I want to control an AppleTV, Receiver, DVD Player, TV, Cable Box, and another device (CD Player, iPod on Dock, etc.)
