Sprint first in industry with 30-day guarantee
Sprint on Wednesday promised it will kick off April with the only full money back guarantee in the industry for its service plans. If customers aren't completely satisfied within the first 30 days can return their handsets and be fully compensated for the purchase price, activation fee, service plan monthly charge and all the associated taxes, while Sprint surcharges such as early cancellation and restocking fees are waived.
The guarantee applies to wireless products but does depend on users returning undamaged phones or mobile broadband cards. Also, Sprint is careful to point out that any downloads such as songs, applications and games, third-party billing, international charges and any usage not included in the monthly service plan, as well as their associated taxes and surcharges, will not be refunded.
Other carriers usually refund the regular service fee and device cost but often keep activation fees and sometimes charge to restock the phones on shelves.
Sprint's timing likely confirms that its new refund program, not a particular phone, is the motivation behind the nationwide all-hands meetings slated to take place today.
