Seiko intros first wristwatch with e-ink display
Timepiece maker Seiko has announced it will soon release the first wristwatch with an active matrix e-ink display. The display can show four levels of gray and has an extremely high 300DPI resolution. Moreover, since the screen only needs power when it updates, it only needs to draw current once every minute and improves battery life compared to a regular LCD.
The unnamed watch also acts as more than just a timepiece and can display both local and world time in major cities, the date, and a photo of Earth. Seiko has not revealed pricing details or a release date for the E-Ink watch. Video of Seiko's E-Ink watch starts at 3:15 in the clip below. [via e-ink-info]
