Apple sees iPad queues despite pre-orders

Apple on cue has launched the iPad for those on the East coast. The device is launching to long lines in New York City, with over 400 estimated at the 5th Avenue store as well as similarly long cues at other flagships like the West 14th location. In at least some cases, the lines have been divided between those with reservations and those hoping to get an iPad on the spot.

Reports have also come in that Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, who has been in line at the San Jose Valley Fair Apple store in California, already has a 3G-capable iPad. It's not clear how or when the device was delivered, but Wozniak is still considered an employee at Apple and has connections to Steve Jobs that would let him get early access to the 3G version.

    huh?

So, why on earth do you think you could get one that you didn't pre-order? I doubt those tiny stores can have *that* many iPads in them.

    When?

When is the last time you saw this kind of excitement (as well as the fury over the original iPhone) for a PC/Windows product?

A new version of Windows doesn't even come close.

    Out of focus...

In addition to fixing the "cues" error, how about only posting photos that are in focus?

The last time for MS was Win 95

Actually, the only time PC's ever had a hoopla event was for Windows 95 and that was a basically a stolen copy of Apple's OS 7. If my memory serves me right.
