Toshiba intros three Camileo camcorders for US

Toshiba on Tuesday announced it will enter the North American digital camcorder market by bringing its Camileo lineup over from Europe. The pocket-sized S20, touchscreen H30 and X100 can all record in 1080p resolution and sport 3-inch LCDs for framing and reviewing their subjects. There is also a YouTube hotkey for quick uploads to the popular video-hosting site, while SDHC memory cards are supported for storage.

Also common to the three are HDMI connections for viewing content on home TVs as well as a USB 2.0 port for charging and transferring content. The S20 is just two thirds of an inch thick and weighs 3.5 ounces. It has a 4x digital zoom and can capture 5-megapixel still images.

The H30 weighs 8 ounces, gets a 5x optical zoom in addition to a 4x digital zoom, and can capture 10-megapixel images. Its control hinges on a three-inch touchscreen LCD.

The Camileo X100 tips the scales at 9.5 ounces, has a 3-inch LCD touchscreen, and has a 10x optical and digital zoom. It also gets a 10-megapixel still image sensor.

The cameras are due to start shipping in the US on April 19th, with the S20 priced at $180, the H30 at $250 and the X100 at $400.
