Intel to soon release 1.8GHz Atom D525 with DDR3 support

Intel 1.8GHz Atom D525 with DDR3 due shortly

Intel is rumored to soon be releasing a new Atom chip, the D525, which may complement or replace the recently introduced D510. The new chip would clock at 1.8GHz with two cores and, for the first time in an Atom CPU, support DDR3 RAM. Despite these improvements, the upcoming chip will have the same thermal design power (TDP) of 13W as the current D510.

At the same time, Intel should also release its 1.83GHz N470, 1.83GHz N475 and 1.6GHz N455 Atom processors during the spring. The latter two will also have support for DDR3 memory. [via Fudzilla]
