Pre-order customers receiving notifications

Plastic Logic appears to have narrowed the shipping time-frame for its upcoming QUE proReader e-book reader, which is now expected to ship late in June. A customer who pre-ordered the device early in the year reportedly received an e-mail notification with an updated schedule, according to Engadget. Customers are still presented with an option to opt out of their purchase, as the company initially claimed the devices would be on-track for April

The QUE features an 8.5x11-inch touchscreen, thin housing, 3G connectivity, Wi-Fi, and unique software for an e-book reader. The Internet connections can be used to download basic content such as RSS feeds, while users can read standard files including PDFs.

At $650 for the 4GB Wi-Fi model, the QUO commands a price well above other standalone readers, such as the Kindle, and even $150 more than Apple's iPad. The 8GB model with 3G brings the price up to $800.
