Mitsubishi intros Internet-aware 3D DLPs, LED LCD TVs in US

Mitsubishi 2010 TVs get Pandora, Vudu
Mitsubishi revamped its TV lineup for 2010 with a full 31 sets. The DLP sets lead the way; in addition to being 3D-capable, most now have StreamTV, an Internet component that provides media and news. The feature brings not just familiar Internet-on-TV features like Flickr and Vudu movies but also basic Facebook access and Pandora streaming radio.
The 638 series starts out the range with 3D and a trio of HDMI ports with CEC and computer support. They range in price from $1,199 for a 60-inch model to $1,999 for a 73-inch version. Upgrading to the 738 series brings StreamTV along with support for a USB-based 802.11n Wi-Fi adapter, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 12-bit color processor and detailed color calibration. Prices are higher for these mid-range sets at $1,399 for a 60-inch set and as much as $3,799 for an 82-inch DLP.
At the top, the Diamond 838 line adds a new 16-speaker, virtual 5.1 surround system built into the body as well as ISFccc-level color adjustment. Mitsubishi prices these from $2,199 for a 60-inch screen to $4,499 for an 82-inch panel.
LED-backlit TVs have been given a refresh as well and tote the same StreamTV while including many of the DLP sets' features as standard: all 2010 models have multi-speaker surround, a minimum 120Hz refresh and at least a 12-bit image processor. Just one basic model, the 154, starts the LCDs off and centers on a 55-inch model at $2,499. The 164 line begins at smaller sizes but adds built-in Wi-Fi as well as the full 16-speaker sound system, Bluetooth audio and color calibration; it ranges between a $1,699 40-inch model and peaks at a 55-inch $2,699 screen.
The top-range Diamond 265 boosts performance significantly with a 240Hz refresh, an 18-speaker audio system, 18-bit color processing with ISFccc tuning and support for remote control through an iPhone app. Two models are available, including a 46-inch set at $2,499 and a 55-inch sibling at $3,199.
No ship dates were given for the TVs, so it's unclear whether they should be available today.
