Google Suggest now out for mobile platforms

Google on Thursday said it has brought its Google Suggest on-demand feature to phones and other handhelds. Like on the desktop, users can start typing in conversions, schedules and other core details into the text box will return answers without having to hit the search button, making queries quicker and easier. The function is already live in the US for Android- and webOS-powered devices as well as iPhones and iPods.

A number of possible search results are returned under the search box as the queries are being typed, but users need to be on the Google.com homepage first. Typing it into the Google search box in the iPhone interface, for example, doesn't return instant results.
