FLO TV gets DVR, pay-per-day options

FLO TV to be interactive, add DVR, pay-per-day
At the NAB show on Tuesday, FLO TV said it was reacting to customer behavior by adding new features and apps that will bring more interactive content and more flexible viewing. It now has time-shifting capability, much like a DVR, and the newfound ability to subscribe per-day rather than by the month. On an Internet connection, viewers can also tap into extra info in video content, such as hitting a button for more information or even buying an advertised product outright.
Besides reducing the cost of using the over-the-air digital streaming, the pay-per-day passes give users an option to view premium content that includes short-run material or special events. The time-shifted viewing will store shows on FLO-enabled mobile devices so they can watch it later and in areas that don't have a signal.
FLO TV service is found so far only on a small number of devices, including Qualcomm's own FLO TV Personal Television, or on certain phones on AT&T or Verizon.
The new functionality will go live during the second half of 2010.
