ViewLED first previewed at CES in January

ViewSonic has begun shipping the 23-inch VT2300LED TV that was initially previewed in January at CES. The ViewLED device features edge-lit LED backlighting, which is claimed to offer a 30-50 percent reduction in power consumption compared to earlier models. ViewSonic lists a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 5ms response time, and 300 cd/m2 brightness.

The 1080p HDTV integrates a range of inputs including VGA, S-video, composite, HDMI with HDCP, and TV/cable. The LCD panel supports a 170-degree horizontal viewing angle, while the included stand allows users to tilt the TV down by 5 degrees or up by 15 degrees.

The VT2300LED is currently available for an MSRP of $400.
