Optoma adds one new GameTime projector

Optoma today began shipping its GameTime projectors aimed at computer and console gamers. The DLP-based lineup includes the GT720, GT360 and the newly announced GT700. The former two use short throw lenses and have a 2,500-lumen brightness rating and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. Both also have a 10W speaker built-in.

The GT360 has a native resolution of 800x600 pixels and is targeted mainly at Nintendo's standard definition Wii. It is, however, also compatible with PCs and Macs, and can receive HD input. The GT720 has a 1280x800 resolution for 720p consoles like the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 as well as widescreen notebooks.

The GT700 has the same resolution of the GT720 but has lower specs to come in at a similarly lower price, with both a 2,300-lumen brightness and a 2,500:1 contrast ratio.

All three weigh 6.5lbs. The GT360 costs $599, the GT700 $749 and the GT720 $799.
