T-Mobile may get Samsung Android flagship

A listing for the Samsung T959 at the Bluetooth SIG has dropped a strong hint that the Galaxy S could soon reach T-Mobile in the US. Although the two phones aren't directly linked, the T959 conspicuously shares the same 4-inch AMOLED screen and Android platform as the phone revealed just last month. While it inaccurately mentions a 480x320 screen, the existence of TouchWiz 3.0 makes it doubtful this is a different or older model.

The existence of a version with a T-Mobile model number would suggest that Samsung plans to ship the Galaxy S to more than one US carrier, as a recent FCC filing has also shown a version with AT&T-native 3G. The company had already promised a US model but hadn't said which carriers would get the treatment.

The Galaxy S is being positioned as Samsung's most powerful Android phone to date and would get both its extra-larger 800x480 Super AMOLED display as well as a 1GHz processor and advanced graphics. Besides being Samsung's first world phone with Android 2.1, it would also be the first to have an interface influenced heavily by the company's own Bada OS.
