Panasonic priced Lumix G2, G10 MFT cameras
Panasonic on Monday unveiled pricing for its Lumix G2 and Lumix G10 Micro Four Thirds cameras introduced early last month. The 12.1-megapixel cameras will ship late in May, with the Lumix G10 priced at $600, while the Lumix G2 will cost $800 and be available in red, blue and black. The G2 replaces the G1 and is the first digital camera with interchangeable lenses that has a swiveling LCD touchscreen.
The G2's touchscreen lets users adjust autofocus or capture photos by touching the subject on the 3-inch LCD. The camera otherwise has the ability to record 720p HD videos in the AVCHD Lite format. The touchscreen controls are also available for navigating playback of videos and images.
The G10 is said to be the lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder. It can record 720p HD video in JPEG, QVGA, VGA and WVGA formats. Either camera ships with Panasonic's standard Lumix G Vario 14-42mm, f3.5-5.6 lens.
