BlackBerry 9670 to be design first for RIM
An uncharacteristically thorough early leak Tuesday evening has uncovered a completely new BlackBerry. The 9670 would be the first clamshell BlackBerry with a full QWERTY keyboard and would also have a large external display. BGR added that it's the first BlackBerry shown running BlackBerry OS 6.0, although in this trim it would use a trackpad rather than a touchscreen.
As shown, the 9670 would be the first BlackBerry ever to use a five-megapixel camera and would have the distinction of the first flip phone from RIM with a 480x360 screen, which matches the resolution of the Bold 9700 or Tour. It would run on CDMA phone networks but would pick up Wi-Fi.
No release dates or known networks have surfaced for the BlackBerry. The smartphone is described as "far from final" and may not debut at RIM's Wireless Enterprise Symposium, but its existence as a working prototype makes it more likely that the phone will have its unveiling within the next several months.
