Gateway NV series gets Core i3, i5 in Japan

Gateway adds Core i3, i5 NV-series notebooks


Acer sub-brand Gateway introduced two new NV-series notebooks in Japan with the NV59C-H34E and NV59C-H54E. The two share the same 15.6-inch display with a 1366x768 resolution, 4GB of RAM and a 640GB hard drive preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium. The difference comes in the former's 2.13GHz Core i3 and the latter's Turbo Boost-aware 2.26GHz Core i5.

Also, the H34E cam be had in silver or blue, while the H54E only comes in silver. Other commonalities include their integrated Intel graphics, HDMI and VGA outputs, three USB ports, and Wi-Fi along with gigabit Ethernet. Each weighs around 5.7lbs.

The two new models begin shipping in Japan on April 23rd, priced at the equivalents of between $860 and $970. US versions of one or both are expected and could be unveiled soon. [via Akihabara]
