Known for its kitchenware, Italy's Alessi has introduced this Android-based touchscreen tablet for the kitchen. The device has integrated Wi-Fi and digital TV tuner, though the size of the touchscreen hasn't been revealed. It includes a dock, and can browse the web, access Facebook and Twitter and act as a digital photo frame.

A USB port and SD card slot are both built-in, and the battery is said to last for six hours. A speaker also appears to be built-in, and the device will have video playback capability. Video recipes, video chat, Internet radio, weather forecasts, news and are also built-in. Designed by Stefano Giovannoni, the hardware was built by a company called Promelit.

The device is expected to begin shipping in Europe this September, priced at the equivalent of about $403. [via SlashGear]
