   flashlight and f*** apps. Oh yeah, and don't forget the thousands of p*** apps. As Steve Jobs has sadly said. If you want p***, go to Android, because they've got plenty of apps for that. Hehehe.

   phones are to make calls, apps are to make phones more useful, android is made to make making apps for phones easier and more open.
   
   p*** is everywhere, it's like saying cars make robbing banks easier. there are two kinds of people, people fixated on p***, and people fixated on other people fixated on p***.
   
   jesus wept, if you don't like p*** don't install it on your phone. any android phone can make calls, any iphone can make calls (snicker, most of the time).
   
   if. you. don't. like. p***. don't. get. p***.
   if. you. do. like. p***. have. at. it.
   
   that said, I think the quality control bar on android apps will eventually go up, people will make crappy apps, other people will buy crappy apps, but the good apps will make wading through the c*** worthwhile. apple itself has made some pretty crappy products in the past. cough newton.

   point of clarification

   the android app store does not allow adult content. so if you want p*** don't look for it in the official market place.
   what it does allow is for 3rd party's to create their own android markets where you can get p*** if you want it. there lies the difference.

   Is that the so called open market place? the point is that everything should be allowed and found in the official store to be open, this isn't more open than iTunes where p*** is on the internet. Android is BS.

   Took a look at that App store.

   The first thing you will notice is the lack of professional looking screenshots for most of the apps or any screenshots for some of them. The second thing you will notice is the lack of quality apps.
   
   Even when I looked at the gameloft games I could see the market fragmentation where some of the better games would only run on the newer android handset.
   
   Most of that 50,000 is shovelware to an even larger extent than the Apple App store.

   Catching up to Apple?

   These headlines crack me up. So the Anrdroid app store added 10,000 new apps in a month (maybe, not official numbers, etc.)? The Apple app store added 16,328 (or 653 per day) this last month, according to 148apps.biz, which puts it at 190,673 active apps on the store. Tell me again how Android is "catching up." It sounds like Android finally has significant momentum at the moment, but "catching up?" I think not. To catch up, it would have to add new apps at a rate faster than iPhone OS is getting new apps. Until that happens, and at a sustained, significant rate, to say that Android is catching up is a joke. A more accurate statement would be "falling behind at a slower rate."

   The figure shows that consumers are eager to try the latest technology and Android has also build consumers' confidence.
