Android-based iPad clone for sale for $210

A Chinese company has copied the iPad in its basic design. Called the APad, the device uses Android for its operating system and is powered by a dual-core Rockchip processor. It has between 2GB or 32GB of built-in flash memory, depending on model, and only 128MB of RAM. A TF card slot can add 16GB of storage space.

The 7-inch touchscreen has a resolution of 800x400, and Wi-Fi is built-in. Google browser and Google Maps are preloaded. Most common video files, including MKV, are support, along with music and photos. An accelerometer is built-in as well. The APad costs $210.

Clones such as this are common in China but rarely make it to other markets, in part because of the likely legal consequences. [via TechDigest]

They should advertise it this way

We use the same type of high-quality screen as the ones found on the MacBooks! (equally crappy TN junk).

    years to develop, lol

I don't care if JooJoo took years to develop....porting Android to a tablet, which has even less hardware than a cellphone, is not a huge task for a technology company.

    JooJoo vs. Clone

JooJoo took years to develop and yet still not 100% functional plus pricey comparing what iPad can do. Whereas APad got out in the market faster than a speed of light and yet cost only $210. JooJoo, what went wrong?

    JooJoo's price to pay

This is what happen when they took on developing their own OS.... years after years before it works fully. Current's JooJoo OS can only surf the web, that's where it stops! You can't listen to music or watch video outside its browser. No apps no nothing and it prices at $500. This is a joke! Anyone else want to volunteer to develop their hardware and OS for a tablet? HTC... good luck.

    Years after years...

Apple, MS, Nokia don't care if they take years to develop OS. For others, you better watch for your bank account because it runs dry fast and before you know it, all JooJoo hardware will be dumped into third world countries just like the rest of WinMobil OS devices.

    I hope.....

Nobody confuses the APad with the iPad...

Can't Stevie-Boy sue because the name is soooo close? And these clowns DARE use the word PAD in their product name? Because Apple owns the word PAD. Right?
