Fujifilm intros 3D-capable card reader with HDMI

Fujifilm in Japan has rolled out the HDP-L1, a SDHC memory card reader that connects to 3D HDTVs over HDMI to show 3D photos and movies captured by Fujifilm's W1 digital camera. The device can also connect to PCs via a USB 2.0 connection to transfer and back-up the content of the memory cards, and can detect standard 2D content or anything else stored on the card as well.

A remote control is included, and users can view content as a slide show, view images as thumbnails, as well as rotate and erase images.

The HDP-L1 will go on sale in Japan on April 27th, priced at the equivalent of $45. It is expected to arrive in North America later this year, though this hasn't yet been confirmed. [via CrunchGear]
