Atom N455 CPU shows up in Toshiba, HP netbooks

The brief appearance of a Toshiba NB305-10F netbook on the company's French website with a 1.66GHz Atom N455 suggests the new chip is due very soon. At the same time, a German Amazon listing is showing an HP netbook, the HP Mini 210, with the same chip. The new Atom chips are uprated versions of the models released early this year and will support DDR3 RAM.

Pricing for the Toshiba netbook remains unknown, but the 10.1-inch HP Mini 210 with the N455 should cost the equivalent of $465 in Europe. This includes a 250GB hard drive, Intel GMA 3150 graphics and 1GB of DDR3 RAM. The device can be had in silver or black, with shipping due to start in about three or four weeks. When the netbook will arrive in the US is unknown. Current Mini 210 models with a 1.66GHz Atom N450 and a smaller 160GB hard drive start at $322. [viaSlashGear]
