Sprint Android flagship may equal Incredible price

The HTC Evo 4G when it ships could cost as much as the Droid Incredible if a Best Buy rep is accurate. A member of the Geek Squad has allegedly been told that the phone will cost the same $200 as the Incredible on contract, even with the larger 4.3-inch screen and WiMAX. The ship date wasn't narrowed down beyond the broad summer target.

Alongside the screen and 4G support, Sprint is counting on features that take specific advantage of its network, such as a front-facing video camera and 720p YouTube uploading, to give it an edge in the smartphone world. The Evo 4G shares the Incredible's use of Android 2.1 and an eight-megapixel camera, but the extra headroom of WiMAX lets it record 720p video and post it to YouTube. Live streaming is heavily encouraged and will even see Qik bundled with Sprint's phone out of the box. [via Ozcarguide]
