Vodafone intros Android-powered 845 smartphone

UK wireless provider Vodafone on Wednesday introduced its first Android-powered and Vodafone-branded smartphone, the 845. It hits the entry level, but it runs on Android 2.1 and has a 2.8-inch touchscreen with a 240x320 resolution, along with Wi-Fi, a 3-megapixel camera and access to the Android Market. In whichever of its 12 markets support it, the phone will ship with preloaded Vodafone 360 services.

The handset otherwise sports 128MB of RAM and 512MB of built-in storage. Presumably, a memory card slot will let users add storage space to the device. Pricing or a release date for the Vodafone 845 have not been announced, however.
