Bookeen adds color versions of Opus e-reader

Bookeen has released its 5-inch Opus e-book reader in a choice of seven colors. Dubbed unceremoniously Opus Color, the device retains the same 800x600 resolution E Ink display and an integrated accelerometer. What is also different is new reading software called Boo, and the device is said to operate quicker, with a near-instantaneous power up.

Supported e-book file formats remain ePUB and PDF, though it can also read HTML, TXT, JPG, GIF and PNG files. Built-in memory is the same 1GB, and a microSD memory card slot is likewise in place. Battery life is rated at 8,000 page turns or about two weeks. The price has also been lowered, now at $200. [via E-Reader-Info]
