FCC confirms HTC Legend coming to North America

HTC Legend ready for 3G on ATT, Canadian carriers

The HTC Legend is headed to North American GSM carriers, an FCC filing confirmed today. The Android phone has shown up at the US agency with the 850MHz and 1,900MHz HSPA support needed to work with AT&T as well as Bell, Rogers and Telus in Canada. Which of the four, if any, wasn't identified by labels or other clues.

The appearance of the phone in the US on AT&T would be a surprise, as previous rumors had the Legend coming to Sprint as a sequel to the Hero where AT&T might only get the higher-end Desire. Telus carries the GSM Hero in Canada and is a prime candidate for the Legend.

Rumors haven't surfaced of the Legend's exact release date, but the existence of the phone at the FCC shows that it could ship as soon as mid-year. [via Engadget]
