Android 2.1 coming to Verizon Droid Eris Tuesday?

An internal memo to Verizon employees reveals that the Droid Eris will get the Android 2.1 update starting on Tuesday, according to MobileCrunch. The update was first mentioned by HTC back in February, and this is the first hint of a timeline for its release. The memo mentions a tentative schedule, likely due to the many delays for the previously promised Android 2.1 for the Sprint Hero/Moment handsets.

Whenever it arrives, the firmware is expected to bring with it an HTML5 web browser, and an upgraded Sense UI. A consolidated social network feed known as Friend Stream that pools Facebook, Flickr and Twitter updates together is also part of the package, among other, smaller changes.
