Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 14, 15 models get AMD CPUs

Lenovo has added new AMD-powered models to its ThinkPad Edge 14- and 15.6-inch offerings, first introduced in March. Newly available chips include the 2.1GHz Athlon II X2, 2.3GHz Turion II X2 and 1.8GHz Phenom II X3. All variations get the same ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 graphics chipset.

The notebooks otherwise share the same 1366x768 resolution for the LED backlit screens. There is 4GB of RAM, and hard drives that range from 250GB to 500GB capacities. These are preloaded with either Windows 7 Home Premium Professional in 32- or 64-bit guise.

Pricing starts at $549 and the new models begin shipping on June 22nd.
