Smartphone could arrive in Canada before US

HTC's Legend smartphone is allegedly set for a Canadian launch near the end of the month, according to Boy Genius Report sources. Local carrier Bell is said to be holding a launch party on May 27 in Montréal, although the ship date is still expected to be delayed until early June.

The Legend is currently available through Vodafone UK alongside HTC's Desire handset. The device features Android 2.1, a 3.2-inch AMOLED display with 480x320 resolution, a five-megapixel camera and optical trackpad.

An FCC filing recently confirmed that the Legend is also headed for US carriers, although the Bell leak appears to indicate the device will arrive first in Canada. Bell has yet to disclose official launch details or pricing.
