ASUS to bring out Bamboo notebooks, more

ASUS has revealed its slate of notebooks due for release later in 2010, including the U-Bamboo and NX/N/U series. The fashionable U-Bamboo notebooks will arrive in mid-June in 13.3-, 14.1- and 15.6-inch models and are the latest in the company's bamboo-covered portable computers. They will be powered by Intel's 2.4GHz Core i5 CPU and NVIDIA's GeForce 310M with 1GB of dedicated RAM and carry USB 3.0 ports. Pricing will start at the equivalent of about $1,290.

ASUS will also launch the NX90JQ that was developed together with Bang and Olufsen, using the Danish company's ICEpower audio. It will get a quad 1.6GHz Core i7, NVIDIA's GeForce 335M with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of system RAM. A 1TB hard drive and USB 3.0 are also part of the standard specs. It's due in July, priced at the equivalent of $2,670.

Also planned for a 2010 release is the mid-range 15.6-inch N53Jh for the equivalent of $1,510, along with a 13.3-inch, $1,190 U35 and a 14.4-inch, $1,260 U45, though no specs for any of these are known. [via DigiTimes]
