Dell outs first notebook with Athlon II Neo

Dell is now shipping a new notebook PC in Singapore, the Inspiron M301z, as its first to sport AMD's dual-core Athlon II Neo. The standard 13.3-inch M301z gets a 1.3GHz processor, though a 1.5GHz Neo is optional, along with between 2GB and 4GB of RAM. An integrated Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics chipset gives it relatively fast 3D out of the box.

Storage comes through a 320GB, 7,200RPM hard drive preloaded with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, while the six-cell battery promises five hours of use. The equivalent US price of the M301z is about $715, and a US release date remains unknown but is likely to be made public very soon.
