LifeBook T730 tablet gets Core i7 option, ships

Fujitsu has stepped up its tablet PC offerings with the 12.1-inch LifeBook T730 . It gets an active digitizer that can be used with a special stylus as standard, but a dual-mode panel can be ordered that can also respond to multi-touch finger inputs. The standard-issue CPU is relatively quick with a 2.4GHz Core i5, with a 2.53GHz Core i5 or 2.66GHz Core i7 optional.

Users can also specify up to 8GB of DDR3 RAM, but 2GB is standard. A 160GB hard drive can make room for up to 500GB or a 128GB SSD. A dual-layer DVD writer is standard, as is Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi and a six-cell battery, which is said to provide nearly 5.5 hours of use. Connections include HDMI, VGA, three USB 2.0, FireWire, Ethernet and a Memory Stick/SD card reader along with an ExpressCard 54 slot.

Pricing starts at $1,869. [via SlashGear]
